WE bring her out after meals, after sleeping, and every hour. She wont pee outside! We got her two days ago. She just sniffs around and looks at things that seem interesting to her and after 10-15 minutes go by, we just bring her back in. What do we do??? Help! especially from mini dachshund owners
This is not a breed question but a training question, 10 minutes may not be long enough for her to want to ‘go’. If she is up to date on all her shots, take her for a short walk, the smells she encounters on the way will stimulate this. Or, keep her outside until she does go and you see it, when you praise her and give her treats, she will get it soon and work out that is what you want her to do.
If you bring her back inside and she hasn’t been, put her in a crate and set the timer again, no puppy should have free rein of the house if they are not trained, it is asking for a repeat of the first mistake.
